Throwback Moment: Tupac x Omar Epps x Juice

I remember when me and my mother was living in Trenton, NJ; we didn’t have cable. All we had was a color TV and a couple of VHS tapes, “Juice” was one of them. There are so many memories with this movie including the moment when I fell in love with Tupac. If you’ve ever watch this movie then you can’t forget this scene, I quote it all the time.

Tupac said it best…RIP baby.. Enjoy.

Didn’t you just love these two together? Jada Pinkett & Tupac were definitely my favorites growing up in the 90s. Their chemistry was so strong on and off camera I am surprised they did not do a movie together. They both had crazy styles that everyone had to have. From Jada’s platinum blonde hair to Tupac’s tied bandana there was no doubt that they were not fashion icons in the 90s. I love that photo of Tupac with those thug life overalls which was definitely a staple trend in the 90s for boys and girls.

So let them be an inspiration to your closet. Get creative and have fun!!!

Hip Hop Quote Of The Day: Tupac

Tupac Shakur Legacy book cover.

“since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it’s time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don’t we’ll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can’t make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you’re fed up ladies, but keep your head up”

No words could describe how brilliant and knowledgeable Tupac truly was. I think this is probably one my most favorite quotes from the late rapper. I believe us as women have suffered enough through this society and we don’t deserve the mental and violent abuse from our men. Just because Men seem to have physical strength, I think us as women are stronger overall. If only half of the women in the world knew their worth this world would be so much better. Believe it or not, happier women promotes a happier society.

But I am not one of those women anymore. I see my worth and my gift to the world. I understand that I am more than what is in between my legs. That’s why I support all strong women out there fighting and hustling every single day of their lives. I want to empower all women, because I believe that we all should lift each other up.

So fellas try loving us, protecting us, be our shield. We are fed up from being beaten, battered, torn and hopeless. Our men need to wake up and realize their worth, maybe when they realize their worth they will be able to understand ours. Tupac’s quote addressed a serious issue, especially within the black community.

Enough is Enough…
