Throwback Moment: Ladies Night

I always appreciated this video because it had so many of my favorite females just having a fun time. This was definitely a classic collaboration, I mean you had Lil Kim, Left-Eye, Missy , Da Brat, and even Angie Martinez!! Imagine if there could be a female rap collaboration like this again who would it include? No shade but I would exclude Nicki from that list because every thing about her annoys me now especially her lace wigs. There are some heavy contenders in the female rap category on the come up so I’m excited. I liked Lil Kim’s flow in this one but Left Eye’s verse was my favorite. I just loved how all these beautiful women came together and bodied this track. I don’t know who told Mary J blige to be on the stage dancing like that though and did y’all see tiny in the back throwing money at that stripper?

This video is so fun to watch.. Enjoy

Throwback Moment: Nas Feat. Lauryn Hill If I Ruled The World

Nas is such a legend he deserves to be the Godfather of Hip Hop. I mean you can’t compare him to any MC because he has always been in his own lane.  I fell in love with him more when he decided to put my baby Lauryn Hill on this song. So many different messages in this track, it’s definitely an eye opener. This is one of the greatest songs in Hip Hop.

What would you do if you ruled the world?

Throwback Moment: Tupac x Omar Epps x Juice

I remember when me and my mother was living in Trenton, NJ; we didn’t have cable. All we had was a color TV and a couple of VHS tapes, “Juice” was one of them. There are so many memories with this movie including the moment when I fell in love with Tupac. If you’ve ever watch this movie then you can’t forget this scene, I quote it all the time.

Tupac said it best…RIP baby.. Enjoy.

5 Vintage looks For The Fall Season

Wassup world hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. Unfortunately in NC its been a rainy gloomy day but I decided to get through this day by completing this post.
Ladies, the fall season is back and we got to get ready to throw off our sandals for boots and uggs. If you love the vintage look like I do then your probably dismantling your closet trying to get ready for the new season.I don’t mind sharing a view style ideas of my own cause I know its easier to create when you can visualize.

Here is 6 pieces that I am loving right now!

HIGH WAISTED PANTS

20120929-144415.jpg

I absolutely love the high waisted pants look especially on myself since I have long legs. You could dress a pair up with some killer heels or wedges with a button up shirt or dressy blouse. Or you could make it casual by wearing a plain crop top. Its so much you can do with these jeans so its my number 1.

THE 80′s WINDBREAKER

Ive been wearing these jackets since my freshman year in college and I cant get enough of them. If you definitely want some neck turning attention you have to cop this. I love this look with a bold gold necklace, black leggings, and some cute kicks. I love the fact that there are endless color schemes, prints and styles. Its really comfortable and casual for a rainy day.

THE OVERSIZED SWEATER

20120929-150718.jpg

I actually just purchased three new sweaters like this and I am excited. This look is so warm and still fashionable. I usually where these with leggings and a pair of boots but to each its own ladies fish nets will do :p

CROPPED LONG SLEEVED TOPS

I mean this top is everything. It’s classy, sexy and sophisticated. Im definitely getting some fall colors of this to wear with my high waisted pants.

THE COMBAT BOOTS

20120929-151926.jpg

Oh how I love you combat boots because you never steer me wrong. All I can say is if you dont have them yet, your left behind, CATCH UP!!

I hope this inspired you ladies to be innovative this fall. I know im not a top notch fashionista but I do know style..
Love… Live … & Flava ya’ll!

PEACE.

Throwback Moment: Erykah Badu x Danger x Showtime at the Apollo

I don’t know why this song is always over looked at when it comes to Erykah badu‘s classics but it got a spot in my list. I love the energy and story line in this song. This is for my ladies holding a man down with a “complex situation”. Remember single ladies every thug needs a lady so don’t judge a man by his record just yet.  I just don’t understand how the audience was sitting down looking all calm when this woman was killing it on stage. Incredible!

Glock on cock, the block stay hot!

Thowback Moment: Mark Morrison x Return Of The Mack

This throwback is for my Mama! My mother use to love this song so much she would play the cassette tape all day long and when we would go out she would take it with her to play it in the car. To be honest when I was younger I never really knew what he was saying but I just loved the way he sounded. This 90′s flava is everything!

Return of The Mack!!

Throwback Moment: 702 x Steelo

Where my 90′s babies at? I cannot tell you how many times I sung this song in my mirror when I was like 7 or 8. I literally wanted to be those girls and when they made this the Cousin Skeeter show’s theme song, I went nuts. This video makes me miss everything that I loved about the 90′s especially that plum lipstick all the ladies use to wear including my mother. I still do the 90′s head bounce to any 90′s song that I hear.

I want that old thang back ya’ll…

Throwback Moment : Bow Wow x Bounce With Me

It’s been a minute since i’ve did a throwback post and ya’ll know how I love my throwbacks!! I had to choose this Bow Wow joint because this was the world’s first glimpse of a child superstar. Even though Bow Wow came on the scene rapping  ghost writer lyrics, you could not deny this little boy’s stage presence. I was crazy about him and I went to every scream tour he was in. I wish his career did not decline like it did as he got older but he is definetly hustling to get his music out there and his fans are still loyal to him.

I’m bouncing right now to this joint!

Throwback Moment: Lauryn Hill x Ziggy Marley x Redemption Song

The lyrics in this song is everything to me!!! I think when Bob Marley wrote this song he advocated his people to be self consciously aware. He spoke truth about what this cruel society has done to our mentality. Even though this song was written years ago it still speaks to our generation today. I almost had a eargasm when I first heard Lauryn Hill and Ziggy Marley cover this song. No one could have done it better than them and Lauryn ripped that freestyle!!

How long shall they kill our profits why we stand aside and look?

Throwback Moment: Dipset x Dipset Anthem

I had to do a throwback post on Dipset, one of the hottest rap groups of my middle school years. I think everybody at that time wanted to be apart of Dipset and repped Harlem to the fullest whether they were from there or not. Their movement was so powerful to me and I had a serious boy crush on Juelz Santana. Before Juelz Santana even existed I also had a crush on Camron, I don’t know it was something about that bald head. It would be epic to see these fellas do another album together but who knows if that will ever be. Because things change, people change and life goes on. I just hope that these gentleman are all on good terms and I wish them the best in their current endeavors.

Also Shout-out to my homie @IamDjN_abitionz for giving me inspiration to do this post on them. He did a live mix for the NY,NJ,PA area and I fell in love with the music all over again. I actually am a on air radio personality for his college radio show, WUAG 103.1 @theNcrowdRadio. Check us out!! We are on air every monday 11pm-1am.
