HIP HOP QUOTE OF THE DAY: BIG PUN
“So be advised, the streets is full of surprises. Its not what crew is the livest. One that survives is the wisest”
RIP to a great MC, BIG Pun. This quote deals with the people who are followers and want to follow the popular crowd. The streets have secrets too.In most cases the popular crowd is the one’s who don’t have their life together. They just fake a persona to convince people they are happy but cant find happiness within themselves.
I remember growing up everybody looked up to the stick up kids, gangstas and drug dealers. We didnt know or understand all the bullshit they had to go through and how many people they harmed in the process. We just knew they had all the money and we didnt.
Our generation needs to stop focusing on the so called “popular crowd and focus on improving our mind, body and spirit. Because the popular crowd is a false perception. We have to free are mind from what we think is reality and stop living with such a close ended mind.
Thats the only way we will be able to survive in this cold, corrupt world. Key word is SURVIVE.
Quote Of The Day: Sista Souljah
“Those that trust no one usually end up trusting the wrong person”
I love me some Sister Soulja and I plan on doing a post about how she has affected my life.
Our generation is so stuck on not trusting anyone till we forget that we obviously need someone to trust in. We tend to believe that everyone is out to get us but who’s fault is that? Did society teach us to look at our fellow brothers and sisters as enemies? Yes there are vultures out there but we need to lift each other up and stop knocking the next man down.
Be cautious about who you trust and also who you allow to trust in you. Remember the law of attraction? Practice what you preach is so cliche but its the truth. Be loyal and in due time loyal people will attract to you.
Hip Hop Line Of The Day: Kanye West x We Don’t Care
“cause aint no tuition for having no ambition and ain’t no loans for sitting yo ass at home”
I love this song because it represents us that came from the ghetto. This line is actually one of my favorite lines because it’s so true. You will never get anywhere being lazy sitting on your butt all day watching rich people get richer or tweeting about a life you don’t have. College is not the road for everybody but you will forever be broke physically and mentally if you are not determined and have no drive. Get yourself off that couch and live.
We miss you old Kanye!
Hip Hop Quote Of The Day: Bob Marley
Hip Hop Quote Of The Day: T.I.
“People hate it when you’re better than them. They ain’t hating, start worrying then.”
- T.I.
I love this quote because it expresses how normal it is for people to dislike you. It does not matter how nice you are or how hard you try to please someone, somebody out there still isn’t going to like you. So why not live your life according to you! You are doing something right if they can’t stand you because they see the potential in you that they can’t see in themselves. The worst part is that sometimes those haters are your closest friends, so be attentive. T.I. has came a long way and definitely has some inspirational quotes.
So Let them keep hating!!!! Nu Flava gonna keep it moving…
Hip Hop Quote Of The Day: Tupac
“since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it’s time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don’t we’ll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can’t make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you’re fed up ladies, but keep your head up”
No words could describe how brilliant and knowledgeable Tupac truly was. I think this is probably one my most favorite quotes from the late rapper. I believe us as women have suffered enough through this society and we don’t deserve the mental and violent abuse from our men. Just because Men seem to have physical strength, I think us as women are stronger overall. If only half of the women in the world knew their worth this world would be so much better. Believe it or not, happier women promotes a happier society.
But I am not one of those women anymore. I see my worth and my gift to the world. I understand that I am more than what is in between my legs. That’s why I support all strong women out there fighting and hustling every single day of their lives. I want to empower all women, because I believe that we all should lift each other up.
So fellas try loving us, protecting us, be our shield. We are fed up from being beaten, battered, torn and hopeless. Our men need to wake up and realize their worth, maybe when they realize their worth they will be able to understand ours. Tupac’s quote addressed a serious issue, especially within the black community.
Enough is Enough…
I’m not guilty. *You’r…
I’m not guilty. *You’re* the one that’s guilty. The lawmakers, the politicians, the Columbian drug lords, all you who lobby against making drugs legal. Just like you did with alcohol during the prohibition. You’re the one who’s guilty. I mean, c’mon, let’s kick the ballistics here: Ain’t no Uzi’s made in Harlem. Not one of us in here owns a poppy field. This thing is bigger than Nino Brown. This is big business. This is the American way. – Nino Brown (New Jack City)

Spoken-Word Flava: Shanelle Gabriel
They say Poetry is nearer to vital truth than history…
This is one of my favorite talented poetic sistas. Mrs. Shanelle gabriel is a soulful singer, a gifted writer, actress, and advocate for Lupus awareness. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she has displayed her skills at colleges and venues both nationally and internationally. Frequently compared to Lauryn Hill and the super duo Floetry wrapped-in-one, Shanelle’s tenacity has allowed her to become a shining star in any path she treads.(http://www.shanellegabriel.com/bio/)
i love to see beautiful black women showcasing their artistic talents, that’s why we need to support them! Check her out in this video performing one of my favorite poems. This one is for the ladies, I love it!!!
