Sistas With Voices: VanJess x Drumroll

I’m so happy for my ladies, for finally releasing their original song “Drumroll”. People were doubting their star quality with their own original songs but I absolutely love this!! I love the reggae feel, the lyrics and the video has some dope fashion trends. The message in this song is so true because it’s a lot of guys out here that can’t even get a drumroll, they need a little work.

Can’t wait to hear their debut album…

Dope Women in Hip Hop: K’LA

When I started this blog I told myself I was going to make sure I posted talented females in Hip Hop, to let this world know that us ladies can roc the mic too. Some of ya’ll might be familar with Ms. K’LA from her single “All your love” that was released in May 2011 signed on Island Def Jam records. I personally loved that song, I appreciated how the producer used the instrumental of “Turn the lights down low” by Bob Marley & Lauryn Hill. But I had no idea that she was a talented rapper as well. Even though K’LA is originally from Gary, Indiana, I love the way her voice gives off this down south feel. She actually reminds me of a female Andre 3000, with her rhyme style and her flow. My favorite track off her mixtape( The Coldest Winter Ever) is “The Coldest Winter Ever”. I love the energy, the flow, and most importantly the story she is tellin in this song. I’m kind of upset because I’m so late on her music, but at least i know now. I would love to do a interview with her to see her view on the music industry and how her success has affected her life. Also check out her spoken word video, I’m telling you this girl is a beast. K’La got the flava in my book!! What about yours?
