Throwback Moment: Jay-Z vs. Nas

One of the biggests beefs in Hip hop history.. Marcy Projects own Jay-z vs. Queen’s Bridge Nas. Nas is a lyrical beast but if anybody knows me yall know im a Jay-z fan. But I had to say Nas murdered Jay on Ether. Using Ether as an metaphor the way he did was brilliant. This battle brought so of the best lyrical battle lines in hip hop history. You know this beef was big if MTV produced a whole show about it. People still debate who really won this hardcore battle. Jay-z? Nas? One things for certain this beef was no publicity stunt.

Full of Flavor or Tasteless?: Iggy Azalea

The streets been buzzin since female rapper Iggy Azalea released her first free mixtape, “Ignorant Art”, saying she made it “with the intent to make people question and redefine old ideals” . But is it her music or her voluptous curves for a white australian girl?

Iggy Azalea was born in Mullumbimby, New South Wales, Australia and moved to Miami, Florida, USA right before she turned 16 years old to pursue her music career. She started rapping at the age of 14 but was obsessed with rap from age 11 when she heard “Baby Don’t Cry”. She also regularly mentions her early influence by Tupac in her interviews, “I was sickly obsessed. I had every picture of Tupac ever printed on my wall”. Azalea also draws and paints as an hobby. She also mentions Andre 3000, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani and Grace Kelly as some of her inspirations.

She is currently working with rapper YG on another mixtape entitled “1990″. Azalea has also mentioned on Twitter that she will be starting her first tour in the beginning of the year of 2012.

Azalea revealed in December that she will be releasing her debut album, “The New Classic”, in the first quarter of 2012. (http://iggyazaleaworld.com/iggy-azalea/biography/)

I’m not so sure what her purpose is yet but i’m pretty sure she is coming for Kreyshawn’s neck. This girl does have hella star appeal though, definetly a good look for fellas to drool on. Even if you don’t really feel her lyrical ability she definetly brought the heat with her beats on her current mixtape and I actually enjoyed some of the samples she used. But is she really full with flava? One thing is for certain though, you will be seeing more of her.
