Sistas With Voices: Etta Bond

ettabond

I don’t know why it took me so long to put Etta Bond in a post, I got exposed to her music during the summer of 2012. She is originally from London and her voice is amazing. She recently debuted her LPEmergency Room” which is more of an electronica inspired album. Her voice is so soulful and angelic I would love to hear more acoustic versions like the first video below. Also shout out to Soul CultureĀ for putting me on to so many talented artists. UK singers definitely got that flava.

Check out Etta Bond!!

Sistas With Voices: VanJess x Drumroll

I’m so happy for my ladies, for finally releasing their original song “Drumroll”. People were doubting their star quality with their own original songs but I absolutely love this!! I love the reggae feel, the lyrics and the video has some dope fashion trends. The message in this song is so true because it’s a lot of guys out here that can’t even get a drumroll, they need a little work.

Can’t wait to hear their debut album…

Sistas With Voices: X- Factor x Carly Rose Sonenclar

Surprisingly, I am hooked to this season’s X-Factor. I’m not a really big fan of what’s getting showed on TV now of days but I absolutely love singing competitions with so much raw talent. This little girl is amazing it’s kind of scary. She has such a big toned voice coming out of her little body. No, she’s not a sista but she sure does sound like one. I can just imagine when she gets older and her voice gets more developed. The song she is performing is actually Karmin’s “Brokenhearted” which sounds completely transformed from the original version. Check out Carly’s video and then Karmin’s. I love Karmin but Carly bodied that song ;) .

TEAM Carly Rose Soneclar!!!

Karmin’s “Brokenhearted”

Sistas With Voices: The Shay Buttah x Frank Ocean’s Pyramids Pt.1

What a beautiful sight it is to see a young black sista with a guitar in her hand. Frank Ocean definetly excited a lot of us with this song telling a deep story of a mystery woman called Cleopatra. This song is the first taste of Frank Ocean’s debut album “Channel Orange” and i’m anxious for what he has in store for us.

I love the way she changed up the melody to fit her acoustic sound. She has a beautiful voice and I wish her success if she is trying to start a music career.

Keep up the good work sista!!

Sistas With Voices: Climax Cover

I’m really not sure what this young lady’s name is but her voice is amazing. I think Usher makes Climax a difficult song to cover because he hits those beautiful octaves but she sure did make it her own. I wasn’t so sure what was going to come out when she started singing but I definitely wasn’t expecting this. It tickled me to see comments about people thinking that wasn’t her real voice and that she was lip syncing. You can obviously see that she is singing from her soul even in her other videos. I love her accent and her style is so inspiring. This sista has the voice.. It’s something about those UK singers huh?

Enjoy…

Sistas With Voices: Erika David

Erika David is a popular You Tuber. I like how she switched up the words for us ladies and how she embraced the song. Absolutely love the song “Strip” originally recorded by Chris Brown so of course I had to check her video out. What do you think?

Sistas With Voices: Vanjess24

I am absolutely in love with these beautiful ladies Vanessa and Jessica!!! They are of nigerian descent from Cali so I definetly got to support my West African people… And I love their classic vintage style..Check these sistas with voices out!!!
