Good Afternoon Flava!! My girl Gabbie Giftsz recently dropped two dope mixtapes for the people. “Finding Nefertiti” which seems to be more personal and sexy while “Miscellaneous Pimp Sh*t” is hardcore and gritty. This is definitely some heat for the summer and Gabbie Giftsz  proves once again she is no mediocre emcee.

Check Out some of her tracks from both mixtapes.

Flava: Yo, I Rap For Money…

Guess Who‘s BIZZAACCKKKKKK!!!!!

I decided to do a post on some Underground artists that I have been listening to for the past couple months. Some of these artists you may know and some you might just be getting hip to them. Underground music has took over my life lately mainly because I am getting bored with mainstream music.
Check out these artists!

MUTYA KEISHA SIOBHAN

This group is the real deal! They are an english girl group based in London. I love how they put a 90′s soul vibe on this Kendrick Lamar track.

SHUN WARD
shun-ward-sip-of-my-cup

I got exposed to Shun Ward while I was on The N-Crowd radio show. I like his smooth voice and anyone who can do a great remake of Sade is always a plus. The “Dying for love” single was the first track I heard, he is a really talented guy.

JOEY BADA$$
joey-bada-feat-chuck-strangers-fromdatomb

Joey Badda$$ is a rapper out of Brooklyn. His buzz been ringing but to me he is still underground and I love it. My cousin sent me his music one morning and I have been hooked ever since. His flow is insane and those instrumentals are classic.

New Flava: Blues People Mixtape x Mike Lovehall

58 Mics is starting this year off with a classic sound. Mike Lovehall has finally released his 1st debut EP, “Blues People” with tracks produced from Q-Tip to DJ Premiere. This tape has a selected 5 tracks including a collaboration with 58 Mics rapper, Maac Cruiz. This guy is legit and I’m throughly impressed. I definetly get an old school vibe when I listen to this and I love the message in his music. The intro was dope, the instrumental reminds me of something Biggie Smalls would freestyle on.

NuFlava: Dirty Money’s Kalenna is Lonely x Kelly Rowland Likes her Kisses Down Low?

This Nu Flava post is all about the ladies. I got some hot tracks from  Kalenna(Diddy‘s Dirty Money) and Ms. Kelly Rowland. I think both of these tracks are empowering for women just touching on different subjects. Kalenna sings about how I guy that did her wong will be lonesome without her while Kelly tells her man she loves it when he kisses down low. I am not mad at you Kelly, you are becoming the Queen of the sex ballads for women. That Kalenna track is so fun to sing and the beat is dope. I’m glad that she is branching out and doing her own thing, I always liked her vocals in Dirty Money. Keep up the good work ladies, female r&b needs soldiers.

Enjoy.

Dope Women In Hip Hop: Gabbie Giftsz Interview

I had to end the year with a dope female mc , who instantly made me a fan. I absolutely love this artist and I wish her success in her current and future endeavors. I swear I will be in NYC this summer definitely checking for her performances.

Get to know Ms. Gabbie Gifts…

gabbie

Where are you from, How old are you and when did you decide to be an MC?

I’m from Brooklyn. I decided to become an MC at 12 years old.

How did you come up with your stage name?

I was going through a stage in my life where I felt I had nothing but my gift of gab, my gabbie giftsz

Who were your musical inspirations growing up and who are your favorite artists out right now?

Lil Kim, she’s why I started rapping. I stole my mom’s best of Lil Kim and listened to it everyday religiously. After that I wanted to be like the boys. I idolized PAC and BIG. Now I love a lot of shit from the south, from Gucci to Big KRIT to Devin the Dude.

What does you and your music represent? What are your trying to tell the world with your music?

My music represents me. It’s an honest depiction of my life. My demons, my accomplishments and everything in between. I’m trying to tell the world to be honest and to be yourself.

What advice would you give to other inspiring female MC’s ?

Stop rapping like Nikki. Don’t fuck a rapper, it’ll ruin your reputation. Don’t get taken advantage of. Act as aggressive as a man-Fuck these niggas.

Do you have any upcoming projects? What can we expect from you in 2013?

I just finished Deadly 7 and now I’m working on Miscellaneous Pimp Shit. For 2013, you can expect more videos and lots more honesty. I’m working harder to show the world what Gabbie is about.

How can listeners contact you and your music?

New Flava: Kat Dahlia x Gangsta

Kat-Dahlia-Gangsta

Just when I was getting tired of the female R&B category, my girl Kat Dahlia came and saved me! I don’t really know too much about this talented young lady except for the fact she is a singer/ songwriter based out of Miami, FL. I love how she made this song her own with a reggae melody.I’m pretty sure we will be hearing more from her pretty soon though but I can’t get enough of this song. I can’t wait to see more pictures of her, she looks like she has a cool retro style to her and I would love to interview her.

This is for all you so called wanna be thugs who think we are impressed by your gangsta mentality. We have been through hell too!
