LeonaLee’s Diary: Keep Wasting Your Time

20121215-154501.jpg

Ever since I’ve turned 21 in November i’ve been tripping out on how much time I have till I’m 30. Yea I know 30 really is not that old but I have set goals that I plan to reach by that age and I am not on track.I started realizing the time I had to watch stupid reality shows, post numerous tweets on twitter and browse photos on instagram was killing my hustle. Now I am a true “hustlette” but sometimes a lady can loose her way. The world has us so distracted with things that are killing our brain power, but we don’t really care.

I know this is a tired quote but “time waits for no man”. Bill Gates can have all the money in the world but he still can’t buy time and death isn’t to picky of its prey. 20 innocent children died yesterday, children who hadn’t even really lived their lives yet and you think it won’t happen to you? I’m disappointed that it took a devastating tragedy for people to wake up but then again I’m pretty sure people are still sleep. When more people realize that time is more of an enemy maybe some progress will start.

Im not going to keep on preaching to yall because I’m not a preacher nor am I going to keep writing because I know ya’ll don’t read. To the ones who are feeling just like me, lets work on being more productive with our time. Let’s read more, let’s work more, let us inspire our children, and most importantly let’s work on ourselves!!!

I feel like Oprah with all of the inspirational quotes but even if I inspire one person than I am satisfied. To those who continue to not care, that’s cool,
Just Keep wasting your time…..

LeonaLee’s Diary: Get Cha’ Money up Girl!!

20120815-013029.jpg

Ladies we are always putting our mouths on the next man’s pocket but what about our own? How many of us women tell ourselves and our girlfriends we dont want a man unless he’s paying our bills, getting our nails and our hair done every two weeks.
There are so many women out here waiting for a rich man or a “baller” to save them from their financial set back but newsflash baby girls there are not too many of them left that want a lady with that mentality. Every woman needs a hustle to maintain their lifestyle because nobody is going to look out for you like yourself. Men were made to be our support system but that’s if he is your husband or your father not your boyfriend or your friend with benefits. Instead of looking for money you need to be looking for love because you never know you might just get lucky and get both. So many women have married for love and some of them fell in love eventualy, others are not so lucky. So we all know that cliche quote ” Money cant buy you love” is true.

There are too many of us strong women with so much potential but we lack determination. I’m not saying we shouldn’t let men take care of us but ladies have something for yourself. Guys love a beautiful woman who got her own and not free loading off of other people’s pockets or assets. Golddiggers are not winning any more.

We need more hardworking ladies with a mean ass hustle and a low tolerance for bullshit. There will be a part 2 to this post so stay tuned…

Remember ladies keep your heels high and your standards higher!!!!
Peace..

LeonaLee’s Diary: The Summer Of A Hustler

Hello World!!!! Ive been missing in action lately due to long hours of work and laziness but I definitely did miss y’all. I figured I’d do a post about whats going on in my life and how cold this summer has been.

In the beginning of the summer I was working with a small black television network and I got to see the process on running a 24 hr television station. The process is not easy and there is a lot of legalities you have to go through to even air content on a network. I recently just got hired at Walmart and have been working 10 hr shifts. Also I still work at Macy’s so whenever I’m not at Walmart I’m there. Yes i am a workaholic and I love it. It’s better than sitting at home broke watching rich people on TV get richer. What happen to the drive in our generation? We need more people like me hustling to achieve more because we deserve more. You need to look at yourself as a one of a kind because the more you believe in yourself the more determined you are.

Lately I’ve been thinking of ideas to enhance Nuflavainyaear.com. Im about to get my own logo and after that get a new original design on the site. Im excited and I hope you are too!!! I promise it won’t be too much but it will represent my site in every way possible.

There are so many ways to better yourself this summer so don’t sit around and let the summer pass you by. Go to the library and read random books, volunteer at the YMCA or rec center, go to socializing events, TRAVEL…Make short time goals for yourself.INVEST IN YOUR BRAND BECAUSE THIS IS THE SUMMER OF THE HUSTLER!!!

Whats your hustle?

LeonaLee’s Diary: Why I started This Site..

Have you ever felt like you didn’t have nothing to showcase to the world? Like if you were to leave the world tomorrow how would they remember you by? How would you leave your legacy? That’s how I felt when I turned 20 years old on a cold November’s day and all those questions seem to pop in my head. I felt like I hadn’t accomplished anything and I felt like I was losing more time than money. I was that college kid who thought she knew what she wanted to be but then she changed her major and knew this is what she wanted to do but then she changed her major again. And then she took a Hip Hop history class that changed her whole perspective on life and finally found her purpose on this earth.

Yep I was that girl!! It’s funny because freshman year I started of wanting to be a computer engineer but I was dead wrong about that decision. I could not even find the strength to get up in the morning to go to my engineering classes but even worse I couldn’t even push myself to do the homework. Then I decided to switch my major to Information Technology and hated it with a passion. All I knew is that I wanted to help people, children to be specific. So I decided to do social work but the more I attended those social work classes the more I realized that social work had no true skill. I also told myself I could still work in social work areas without a social work degree. I started to reminisce about my high schools years and how many of my teachers told me how good of a writer I was. Then I started to think about the three different high schools I attended and how quickly I made friends. So quickly, that these people started coming to me for advice and even trusting me with their secrets. All I knew is that I loved music, I loved history and I loved people. I loved meeting new people, talking to people, helping new people. I guess you could call me a people person.

It finally hit me that I needed to study Mass Communications and Journalism. At first I was more upset than happy. I mean I found out what my true career was but it took me almost two years in college to figure it out. But then I thought about how many people have graduated out of college with a degree they did not want only to find out what their true career path was. I got so excited and relived that God had revealed my answer to me but then another question popped into my head. How am I going to display my talents? What will I put on my resume? I was glancing on kidfury.com then I thought how bout I start my own blog. Even if people don’t look at it atleast it’s there to be seen.

I started thinking of a site that I would enjoy. That I would go and check out every single day.I dreaded the fact that I had to go to mediatakeout.com for gossip, hiphopearly.com for new music, concreteloop for urban news and kidfury.com for laughter. I told myself why not combined all those elements and make it my own. So that’s exactly what I did!! The title Nu Flava In Ya ear was already my old twitter name so I thought why not make it my site’s name because I was already in love with it. It took me a month to actually go through with this idea and get it up and running but when I did I couldn’t leave it alone.

This site is like my baby, she came straight from my wound.I am so amazed by the reviews and comments I have been getting on this site. And I just wanted to say thank you for all the support and all the views. I am truly a blessed and humble individual who does this for the people and not for the show. I am a working progress but believe me the best is yet to come.

Like I said in my video I want my readers to get to know me, to feel where i’m coming from. I want to let ya’ll know that this is a real person writing these posts and not some robot. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to see on the site, suggestions, comments, new artists, etc. I’m open for anything!!! email me at lntaylo1@me.com

Anyways Love, Peace & Flava ya’ll. Be Blessed…….
