Throwback Moment: Michael Jackson x Billie Jean LIVE x Rock My World

Michael Jackson

It’s been three years since we lost The King of POP and I am still heart broken. Michael Jackson was everything to me and it took me a whole month to really believe that this man passed away. This man had so much stage presence that people passed out in front of their TV screens when he appeared.

We miss you Michael, very much… Let your soul live on through your music..

Sistas With Voices: The Shay Buttah x Frank Ocean’s Pyramids Pt.1

What a beautiful sight it is to see a young black sista with a guitar in her hand. Frank Ocean definetly excited a lot of us with this song telling a deep story of a mystery woman called Cleopatra. This song is the first taste of Frank Ocean’s debut album “Channel Orange” and i’m anxious for what he has in store for us.

I love the way she changed up the melody to fit her acoustic sound. She has a beautiful voice and I wish her success if she is trying to start a music career.

Keep up the good work sista!!

LeonaLee’s Diary: The Summer Of A Hustler

Hello World!!!! Ive been missing in action lately due to long hours of work and laziness but I definitely did miss y’all. I figured I’d do a post about whats going on in my life and how cold this summer has been.

In the beginning of the summer I was working with a small black television network and I got to see the process on running a 24 hr television station. The process is not easy and there is a lot of legalities you have to go through to even air content on a network. I recently just got hired at Walmart and have been working 10 hr shifts. Also I still work at Macy’s so whenever I’m not at Walmart I’m there. Yes i am a workaholic and I love it. It’s better than sitting at home broke watching rich people on TV get richer. What happen to the drive in our generation? We need more people like me hustling to achieve more because we deserve more. You need to look at yourself as a one of a kind because the more you believe in yourself the more determined you are.

Lately I’ve been thinking of ideas to enhance Nuflavainyaear.com. Im about to get my own logo and after that get a new original design on the site. Im excited and I hope you are too!!! I promise it won’t be too much but it will represent my site in every way possible.

There are so many ways to better yourself this summer so don’t sit around and let the summer pass you by. Go to the library and read random books, volunteer at the YMCA or rec center, go to socializing events, TRAVEL…Make short time goals for yourself.INVEST IN YOUR BRAND BECAUSE THIS IS THE SUMMER OF THE HUSTLER!!!

Whats your hustle?

Throwback Moment: Lauryn Hill x Ziggy Marley x Redemption Song

The lyrics in this song is everything to me!!! I think when Bob Marley wrote this song he advocated his people to be self consciously aware. He spoke truth about what this cruel society has done to our mentality. Even though this song was written years ago it still speaks to our generation today. I almost had a eargasm when I first heard Lauryn Hill and Ziggy Marley cover this song. No one could have done it better than them and Lauryn ripped that freestyle!!

How long shall they kill our profits why we stand aside and look?

Spoken-Word Flava: IHeartMusic314 x Dumb Enough

Isn’t it amazing what individuals can do with words? I don’t know about ya’ll but I love me some Spoken word. It’s been a while since i’ve done a post like this so I decided to enlighten yall with this beautiful young lady that I found surfing Youtube.

I’m definetly feeling her flava!! What ya think?

New Flava: Maac Cruiz x Kingpin’s Briefcase

Mr. Maac Cruiz has hit the streets in the head with another certified mixtape. “Kingpin’s Briefcase” is the second mixtape by the rapper released only a month after his debuted mixtape “Cosa Nostra“. “Kingpin’s Briefcase” was produced by Mr. Mike Lovehall who also is featured on a couple tracks. My personal favorites are ” Briefcase” and “the fair-weathered ones”. I also enjoy the melody on “LiveLifeLoveYou”.

Some of ya’ll remember me doing a post about Maac Cruiz a couple of weeks ago which had phenomenal reviews. That post did so well that it broke a Nuflavainyaear.com record for the most popular post read ever. I definitely respect these young men’s hustle to record and produce quality hip hop music in such a short time. NC MUSIC IS ON THE RISE!

So now that ya’ll are hip to Maac Cruiz there should be no reason why ya’ll shouldn’t have “Kingpin’s Briefcase” on your Ipod right? Enjoy!!

Throwback Moment: Dipset x Dipset Anthem

I had to do a throwback post on Dipset, one of the hottest rap groups of my middle school years. I think everybody at that time wanted to be apart of Dipset and repped Harlem to the fullest whether they were from there or not. Their movement was so powerful to me and I had a serious boy crush on Juelz Santana. Before Juelz Santana even existed I also had a crush on Camron, I don’t know it was something about that bald head. It would be epic to see these fellas do another album together but who knows if that will ever be. Because things change, people change and life goes on. I just hope that these gentleman are all on good terms and I wish them the best in their current endeavors.

Also Shout-out to my homie @IamDjN_abitionz for giving me inspiration to do this post on them. He did a live mix for the NY,NJ,PA area and I fell in love with the music all over again. I actually am a on air radio personality for his college radio show, WUAG 103.1 @theNcrowdRadio. Check us out!! We are on air every monday 11pm-1am.
