If you ain’t bout yo’ own people, what you gon’ raise ya fist for?
Why are we steady fighting each other instead of with each other to make a positive change? Stop fighting over nonsense and let’s fight for some unity.

When will Jhene Aiko release her anticipated Def Jam album? We hope soon!! But till then she gives us a tease with her new track “Comfort Inn Ending” Her voice is so haunting and smooth that this track is definitely flava to cool down with during this summer’s heat.
Chris Brown’s CBE,Sevyn Streeter has been on fire with her music releases for her upcoming album. I have been keeping my eyes on her since she was on B2K’s TG4 girl group. I love this joint especially in the car on the way to see your significant other.
When Hip Hop started it was pretty much just that. Every MC was rapping about the same thing; the struggles of the inner city lifestyle. But now Hip Hop has emerged bigger than ever and birthing sub genres along the way..
PART 1:
TRAP MUSIC
Trap Music came out of Southern Rap in the mid 2000s. This music is defined by its lyrical content and 808 drum beats. The “trap” is a slang word for where drugs are consumed. Many rappers in this genre rap about their trap life experiences and the ups and downs of being a drug dealer. Popular trap music rappers include T.I., Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, And Rick Ross. There tends to be controversy with this genre because of the lack of established credibility with rappers. i feels as though many do not or have not lived this so called “trap life” but what’s Hip Hop without exaggeration. Trap music has got major exposure in the last 5 years and does not seem to be getting played out anytime soon.
HIP HOP SOUL
Hip Hop Soul is the mixture of Rhythm and Blues, Neo soul and Hip Hop. This is my favorite genre because it mixes soulful R&B with Hip Hop production. I swear P.Diddy mastered this sound with his Bad Boy Artists. This genre was really popular in the 90s with artists like 112, Total, Foxy Brown,Missy Elliott, and the queen of it all Mary J Blige. Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Beyonce are some current artists as well. The 90s was a big turning point for Hip Hop, that is when a lot of sub genre’s emerged from across the country.
SELF CONSCIOUS RAP
About.com defines this genre as one that focuses on creating awareness and imparting knowledge on the people. Conscious rappers believe radical social change comes through knowledge of self and personal discovery. Conscious rap is filled with positivity, motivation and good vibes with smooth and rich instrumentals. Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common, and Nas all fall under this category. The problem with this genre is that it is declining when it comes to sales. It’s hard for these rappers to hit mainstream because of the topic of the music is not as marketable as others. Regardless of how much conscious rap decline is will always hold the true essence of Hip Hop music.
Hip Hop is more than just music, it’s a culture worth learning..
Stay posted to learn some new Hip Hop genres next week!

Singer,Shun Ward is a favorite of Nuflavainyaear and He has released his debut mixtape “Pet Blue Dolphin”. He is representing Houston, Texas and is an artist from Gruvsoul Entertainment. This mixtape gives me a 90′s vibe and it’s definitely some flava to relax to. Shun Ward covers classics from Sade to Ginuwine and his vocals are so smooth. My favorite track is “Dying For Love”, because we use to always spin that joint on the NCrowd Radio show and I have been hooked since. This is a MUST download so Get Hip.

Kendrick Lamar releases the visual for his hit single “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe” with appearances from Mike Epps and Juicy J. That is kind of funny for there to be a Juicy j appearance just because my interpretation of the all white dress code funeral was the death of molly. I mean I could be wrong but anyways enjoy.
